Nicole Mcfadden is an outdoor advocate and storyteller.
Growing up
I grew up in a small town in Southwestern Ontario — building forts in the conservation area down the road, fishing with my dad on weekends. High-speed internet arrived late, which mostly just meant more time outside.
Getting lost
After studying journalism at Western and digital marketing at George Brown, I left. A few years, a few continents, and a lot of wandering later, I landed in Toronto working in marketing for a luxury active travel company.
Finding purpose
Eventually I made my way to Parks Canada, where I've spent the last several years producing stories about conservation while exploring some of Canada's more remote corners.
What I'm after
I tell stories of nature, adventure, and connection — capturing endurance athletes in wild places, unconventional lives lived outdoors, people working hard to conserve nature. I'm drawn to the little love stories that happen in between the big action. Between people and the land, and between people and each other.
Think my style is what you’re looking for? I’d love to bring your story to life.
